about me

Hey there and Welcome to Autumn & Moss!

My name is Autumn, and I’m a 22-year-old artist who finally decided to share my work with the world. I’ve been a nature lover and artist for as long as I can remember; from the moment I could first hold a pencil, my birthdays and Christmas mornings were always filled with craft supplies.
Whether I was drawing, painting, sculpting, or building, I have always found love in creating.
Now I wasn't always an artist as my 9-5. Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week, I'm covered head to toe in grease, oil, and sweat pulling apart and putting together cars and trucks.  While my day job as a mechanic is worlds away from running an art business, it is something I also have had a love for since I was rolling around car shows in a stroller. My father drives a 18-wheeler hauling beautiful classic cars and my step-father is a mechanic doing exactly what I do. Before I could reach the peddles, I had a wrench in my hand.
At first, being a mechanic and being an artist might seem like two completely different worlds. But to me, they have always shared something important: creating.
As a mechanic, I take something that is broken, worn down, or no longer working and figure out how to bring it back to life. I get to use my hands, solve problems, work with different vehicles, and turn an idea in my head into a something I can perform.
Art feels much the same to me.
Instead of a wrench, I might pick up a pencil. Instead of an vehicle, I might start with a blank canvas. I’m still taking something apart, figuring it out, putting the pieces together, and creating something that wasn’t there before.
Whether I’m bringing an old truck back to life or turning white canvas into a piece of art, I think I’ve always just been someone who loves to create.
It’s not just fixing a car and sending it back down the road. It’s reviving a woman’s late husband’s truck, making sure new parents have a safe vehicle to bring their baby home in, or helping a family get back on the road 500 miles from home. It’s taking a weight off someone’s shoulders and putting a smile on their face. That’s why I do what I do.
And in many ways, creating art gives me that same feeling. Sharing my work with the world has always been a dream of mine. When I was around 15, I sold my first painting at a family-run coffee shop a block from my house. That first sale turned a childhood dream into something I finally believed could become a reality.
Shoutout to my Mom making the first purchase and being the first supporter to my dream. I love you Mom and thank you.
Finally, as of the beginning of September, I have officially opened Autumn & Moss to the world and turned my little dream as a kid into a reality. Thank you for being here to follow along with this journey and I am so excited to see it grows.
God Bless you all!
